How to write notes on their opponents when playing online poker
When you’re sitting at a real table and playing “live” club poker, there is no way to write notes on their opponents, at least quietly. The only possibility is to delay a note in my head. Online poker is in this respect a great advantage, which is not in a live game. And it is very important to use it and write notes on their opponents. And if you’re going to do this, you have to do it right. This means including the fact that key details should be recorded in your notes so that this important information was subsequently relevant and understandable.
One of the highlights in the book, to which most players do not pay attention, is the date of making notes. Date should always be written to if you get back to that player at one table, for example, six months later, we must be careful because over time his style of play could greatly change. On the other hand, if it appears on your records that you have with him playing poker just last week, you can be sure; hardly his style has changed in such a short period of time.
The first time I noticed the player what is specific or important feature, I write him a note with a question mark. For example, if I see a player after two consecutive checks can bet on Oh, I write a note like “might bluff with a passive table?”. As I saw it only once and not sure what I am writing this with a question mark. If I see a player like that tricks a couple more times, then remove the question mark. Because if you notice a reviewer some remarkable feature once, it does not mean that he does so always.
It is also very important that the notes on your opponents in online poker were written as detailed as possible. A note like “attacking the blinds” is good information, but it is better to supplement some detail, in future, better to use a note. For example, the phrase “attacking the blinds from late position with garbage hands in the absence of other opponents will be better characterize the player.
